As an 11 year veteran of teaching, Tom Torrento is currently in his 6th year as the director of bands at Grosse Pointe North High School & Parcells Middle School in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. An active clinician for concert bands around the Metro-Detroit area, Tom has also been writing Marching Band drill and programming for the last 5 years. Professionally, Tom has been recognized as Region 9 Teacher of the Year by the Michigan Department of Education (2018), the District XVI Band Director of the Year by the Michigan Schools Band & Orchestra Association (2019), School Band & Orchestra Magazines Michigan Recipient of 50 Directors Who Make a Difference (2019), and most recently the Parcells Middle School Teacher of the Year in the Grosse Pointe Public School System (2022).
